An Ex-Muslim who converted to Christianity took off her hijab on a live Arabic show. The Jordanian woman who was explaining her Islamic credential during the show, ended her interview by removing her hijab and discussing her experiences with Islam and Christianity.
The Arabic language video, recorded 18 months ago, has become an online hit with over 4 million views on Youtube. The UK based Christian Al-Hayat TV channel is Egyptian run; Egypt has witnessed many bloody clashes between Muslims and Christians; this might be another reason for more tensions.
Al-Hayat TV is evangelical, and gears some of its programs towards Muslims in an attempt to convert them. Its anti-Islamic rhetoric has sparked much controversy in the Arab world, especially in Egypt, where Islamists control the majority of the parliament.
