Misplaced story, Saleh gave the U.S. a carte blanche to strike anywhere anytime. The timing of the airstrike relates to the relaxed mood among alQaeda militants; they are the ones exploiting the power vacuum, and they feel more comfortable. Al-Qaeda remains the most powerful spoiler of any revolution in the Arab world, too bad they are more active in Yemen than in other places. Too much blood spilled for freedom in Yemen; it would be a shame if what remains after all these sacrifices is a showdown between the U.S. drones and al-Qaeda crazies.

"WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has intensified the American covert war in Yemen, exploiting a growing power vacuum in the country to strike at militant suspects with armed drones and fighter jets, according to American officials"

Awlaki, America's new "bad guy".
